Can I use the EC for my academic programme?
The EC will always be listed in Osiris and on your degree certificate (diploma). However, sometimes you can use the EC your received from ID towards your elective credits. Use the chart below to see if this is the case.
I am a first year master student, why don’t my EC from Cases on Tour or the master community trip count towards my elective credits?
In September 2017, the faculty of IDE formulated a new rule concerning elective credits. Because they want to prevent that master students already take electives in their first year, they created the rule that you have to be enrolled at least one year and have earned at least 30 EC before being eligible for taking electives. This rule applies for all electives and not just for the electives we offer at ID study association. There are only a few exceptions to the rule including the elective “project organisation”. This exception applies to all our committees.
Important to note is that you can earn a maximum of 6 EC before the second year of your master.
It is also possible to request your own exception at the Board of Examiners (educationregulations-ide@tudelft.nl ).
You can find more information and the exact rules in the Teaching and Exam Regulations, 2017-2018 (https://www.tudelft.nl/en/student/faculties/ide-student-portal/practical-affairs/education-rules-and-regulations/)

Can I request an exception at the Board of Examiners for Cases on Tour or Master Community Trip?
We would advise against it. It is always possible to request an exception via educationregulations-ide@tudelft.nl . However, the ID board already requested a general exception which was denied. Therefore, it is unlikely they will grant the exception in individual cases.
How can I make sure I actually receive the EC?
Make sure you are an ID member before participating in a committee or activity.
When will I see the points in Osiris?
The Secretary of ID requests the points three times a year to the IDE faculty. This happens in February, July, and September every year. Check the table below. After the points are requested it can take up to 4 weeks for the faculty to process the request, after which your points will be visible in Osiris.
Committees/Activities | |
February | Cases on Tour 1, Exi.d, Master Community |
July | Acti.d, Summercue, PR-i.d, Foto, Vidio, TOC, Cases on Tour 2, Spring Trip, i.d-Kafee, Lustrum, IO Festival, IO Bedrijvenbeurs, Master Community Trip |
September | EJW, Flight Case, Master Community, Turn The Page, Report-i.d |
I can use my EC towards my elective credits but in Osiris they are under ‘Grades – Other’
Your electives will not officially count towards your degree until you have told the faculty that you would like them to count. When you are graduating, you have to fill in a form with the electives you would like to count towards your degree. For more information contact graduation support.
